The starting point of the VIA ROMEA is in Stade, at the inner courtyard of the former monastery of abbot Albert. It leads from the inner courtyard of the former Franciscan monastery (at the statue of abbot Albert) through Stade, into the wide landscape of Northern Germany. The tour is marked by little forest areas, areas of arable land and the \u201cFrankenmoor\u201d. The flat, but nevertheless demanding tour leads you for long stretches through the wide fields of Northern Germany. The tour leads you through small villages and long, straight distances.
